Collaboration
Helping a client identify their own motivations for change helps them have a desire to change. Helping a client realize their strengths and ability to change, empowers them and increases their self-confidence and self-efficacy for change. Learning the skills of Motivational Interviewing and the steps of the Transtheoretical Change Model are tools that are helpful and perhaps vital for a Health and Wellness Coach to acquire. To achieve the goal of establishing a relationship that promotes change and facilitates growth for the promotion of health and well-being, these tools are indeed invaluable.

The following is a transcript of a coaching interview in which I utilized motivational interviewing techniques to increase motivation and self-efficacy in the client. This interview demonstrates an effective collaboration between myself and my client, resulting in the client receiving inspiration and motivation to implement desired change goals.
